Samsung will smash the Apple A14 Bionic with its new Exynos 2200 chip

Samsung's next-generation processor for mobile devices such as Android smartphones and tablets will be the Exynos 2200, currently under development. However, according to new reports this chip will surpass the capabilities of the Apple A14 Bionic.

We are counting on the official presentation of the new Samsung processor at the end of 2021, to be integrated in next generation products, in 2022, such as, for example, the Galaxy S22. Until then, we already have a lot of information about the new generation of SoC's.

Exynos 2200 is Samsung's Next Generation Processor

According to the leaks of information so far, Samsung is already preparing the Exynos 2200, a high-end next-generation processor. This mobile processing solution will stand out for its collaboration with AMD.

More specifically, with the integration of an extremely powerful new graphics thanks to the AMD RDNA architecture. This is Samsung's "secret" that will allow you to take a huge quantitative leap in processing power for your new SoC.

As such, the industry is now waiting for the introduction of the new chip and, according to reports originating in South Korea, Samsung has dubbed this new SoC "Voyager". Its development will already be in the last stages, preceding the presentation.

More specifically, we have AMD RDNA2 graphics with the new micro architecture. Note that this is the same technology employed in new generation consoles such as PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, as well as AMD Radeon RX graphics.

The Samsung chip will have AMD RDNA2 graphics just like the PS5 console

What's more, according to a China-based source , the first benchmark tests of the Exynos 2200 are amazing. According to the report, the GPU from this new processor has already been tested at GFXBench. Additionally, it will have achieved a frame rate of 190.7 fps on the Manhattan 3.1 platform at 1080p Full-HD.

Furthermore, in the Aztec Ruins test, the Exynos 2200 chip will have surpassed the Apple A14 Bionic, currently Apple's most powerful processor for mobile devices, present in the iPhone 12 generation. A14 Bionic is about a year old and the Exynos 2200 is still in development.

However, it should be noted that in addition to the huge leap in graphics processing power (GPU), the Exynos 2200 will also show serious improvements in the CPU. That is, in overall processing power thanks to the 3- cluster or group architecture .

The Exynos 2200 will have surpassed the Apple A14 Bionic

The new Exynos 2200 processor will thus have three groups of cores. The first will be a super Cortex-X1 cores for extreme tasks like gaming. It will then have three Cortex-A78 cores for moderate tasks and four Cortex-A55 cores.

In short, you'll have a new large core to respond to extremely demanding tasks, three cores for somewhat demanding tasks, as well as four smaller cores for simple tasks.

We thus have an Exynos 2200 extremely powerful in terms of graphics. In fact, according to some leaks this chip could outperform Qualcomm's next-generation Snapdragon 898 and compete with the A15 Bionic.

There is still a lot to discover about the next generation processors, but it is certain that these will be the "engines" of the best smartphones in 2022.
